Privacy Policy
Your data stays on your Mac. Period.
Local First
TimeScroll is designed to be completely local. All snapshots, search indices, and database files are stored directly on your Mac's hard drive. We do not have access to your data.
No Uploads
TimeScroll does not upload your screen data to any server. The only network activity is checking for app updates (which can be disabled).
Data Control
You have full control over your data:
- You can pause/resume capture at any time.
- You can delete specific snapshots or clear all data.
- You can set retention policies to automatically delete old data.
- You can exclude specific apps from being captured.
Encryption
TimeScroll offers an Encrypted Vault feature. When enabled, your snapshots are encrypted at rest using your password/Touch ID. Note that if you lose your password, this data cannot be recovered.
Permissions
TimeScroll requires Screen Recording permission to function. You can revoke this permission at any time in macOS System Settings.
